Section 1
Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on the features you use and your role in the Services.
AAccount and contact information
We may collect your name, email address, telephone number, login credentials, account type, profile information, communication preferences, and other information you provide when creating or maintaining an account.
BProperty, project, and location information
We may collect property addresses, service locations, approximate or precise location information, property characteristics, project descriptions, requested work, budgets, timelines, estimates, proposals, contracts, milestones, change orders, and related project records.
You may enter an address manually if you do not want to provide your device's precise location. We collect device location only after receiving the permission required by the device or applicable law.
CPhotos, LiDAR scans, and measurements
When you choose to use scanning, measurement, documentation, or estimating features, we may collect:
- Photos of properties, rooms, building components, job sites, and project progress;
- LiDAR, depth, mesh, spatial, and augmented-reality data;
- Dimensions, room layouts, floor plans, surface areas, and detected property features; and
- Metadata associated with uploaded or captured files, which may include capture time, device information, and location if enabled.
Our scanning and capture features do not record audio. If you upload media from your photo library that contains audio, you are responsible for obtaining any consent required by law, including in states that require the consent of all parties to a recording.
These materials may incidentally contain personal information, images of people, personal belongings, documents, addresses, or other sensitive details. Please avoid capturing people or information that is not needed for your project, and obtain any permissions required before scanning or recording a property you do not own.
We use depth, camera, and spatial data to provide measurements, project documentation, estimates, visualization, and related Services. We do not use data obtained from depth or facial-mapping tools for advertising, marketing, or use-based data mining.
DSensitive personal information
Some of the information above may be treated as sensitive personal information under California and other state privacy laws, including precise geolocation and account login credentials. We collect and use this information only to provide the Services you request, secure your account, and meet legal obligations. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing.
EProfessional and business information
If you register as a contractor, designer, supplier, or other professional, we may collect business names, business addresses, service areas, trade specialties, license information, insurance information, team size, availability, portfolio materials, past estimates, pricing information, qualifications, and verification records.
FCommunications and user content
We may collect messages, support requests, feedback, reviews, uploaded documents, project notes, photos, and other content you submit through the Services or communicate to us.
GTransaction and payment information
If you use payment or procurement features, we and our service providers may collect transaction details, billing information, payment status, and information needed to prevent fraud or comply with law. Payment-card and banking credentials may be collected directly by our payment providers rather than stored by Build Hero AI.
Any payment processor or other provider may publish its own privacy notice and process information under its own terms.
We may introduce financing, insurance, or warranty features in the future. If we do, we will provide any additional notices required at that time, including any separate financial-privacy notice required by law, before those features collect information from you.
HDevice, analytics, and diagnostic information
We may automatically collect information such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, device or account identifiers, language, time zone, screens viewed, features used, session information, referral information, performance data, crash logs, and diagnostic information.
We use PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for error monitoring and crash diagnostics. Their collection depends on how those tools are configured in the Services.
IInformation from other sources
We may receive information from business partners, contractors, designers, suppliers, property managers, identity or license-verification services, payment providers, public records, and other users when needed to provide or protect the Services.

How We Collect Information
We collect information:
- Directly from you when you create an account, complete a form, upload content, scan a property, submit a project, communicate with another user, make a transaction, or contact us;
- Automatically from your device and your interaction with the Services;
- With your permission through device features such as the camera, photo library, LiDAR or depth sensors, and location services; and
- From service providers, business partners, public sources, and other users where permitted by law.
You can control certain permissions through your device settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the associated feature from working, but we will not attempt to override your device choices.

How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure accounts;
- Provide property scanning, measurement, estimating, visualization, matching, procurement, project-management, communication, and payment features;
- Analyze project information and generate estimates, recommendations, scopes of work, or other outputs using automated systems and artificial intelligence;
- Match property owners and project clients with contractors, designers, suppliers, and other professionals;
- Process transactions and administer project milestones and related services;
- Verify licenses, insurance, identity, qualifications, and eligibility;
- Communicate about accounts, projects, transactions, updates, security, and support;
- Personalize and improve the Services and develop new features;
- Monitor performance, diagnose errors, analyze usage, prevent fraud, and protect the security and integrity of the Services;
- Enforce our agreements, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations; and
- Send marketing communications where permitted by law. You may opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in the message. You may still receive non-marketing communications about your account, security, projects, or transactions.
We will not use personal information for a materially different purpose without providing notice or obtaining consent when required by law.

Artificial Intelligence and Automated Processing
Build Hero AI uses artificial intelligence and automated systems to analyze project descriptions, images, scans, measurements, pricing information, and other project data. These systems may help identify property features, calculate quantities, generate estimates or scopes, organize project information, and support matching or recommendations.
To provide these functions, relevant data may be transmitted to third-party AI providers, currently Anthropic. These providers process information on our behalf under agreements that limit use to providing the Services and that prohibit using your information to train their models.
We may change AI providers or move processing to open-weight models that we operate on our own infrastructure in the United States. We will update this Privacy Policy to reflect any material change in how or where your information is processed.
AI-generated measurements, estimates, recommendations, and other outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate and should be reviewed by a qualified person before being relied upon for construction, safety, financial, permitting, or contractual decisions.

How We Disclose Information
AOther participants in a project
We may share information with property owners, clients, contractors, designers, architects, suppliers, property managers, and other people or organizations involved in a project. The information shared depends on the user's role, the project, and the features used.
Contractors, designers, suppliers, property managers, and other professionals who receive your information act as independent businesses and use that information under their own privacy policies and terms. We do not control how they use, retain, or further disclose it. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any professional you engage through the Services.
BService providers
We may disclose information to vendors that provide hosting, cloud storage, databases, security, authentication, communications, customer support, analytics, crash reporting, AI processing, document processing, payment processing, identity or license verification, and other operational services. These providers include PostHog, Sentry, Anthropic, our cloud hosting and database providers, and our payment providers, depending on the features used.
We require third parties that process personal information on our behalf to provide protections that are the same as or equivalent to those described in this Privacy Policy and to process the information only as permitted by our instructions, agreements, and applicable law.
CBusiness transactions
We may disclose information in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal protections.
DLegal, safety, and security purposes
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law or legal process; respond to lawful requests; protect the rights, property, or safety of Build Hero AI, our users, or others; investigate fraud or security incidents; or enforce our agreements.
EWith your direction or consent
We may disclose information when you direct us to do so, authorize a connection or transaction, or otherwise provide consent.
FSale and sharing of personal information
We may sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California and other state privacy laws. Specifically, when you submit a project, we may disclose project, property, contact, and related information to contractors, designers, suppliers, and other professionals in exchange for valuable consideration.
We do not disclose personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use LiDAR, depth, camera, or spatial data for advertising or marketing data mining. We do not sell or share sensitive personal information.
You may opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information at any time using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link on our website or in the app's privacy settings. We honor opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control. We do not require you to create an account or verify your identity to submit an opt-out request.
When you opt out, we will stop selling or sharing your personal information and will notify recipients to whom we previously sold or shared it within 90 days. Opting out may prevent us from matching you with professionals or providing some or all of the Services.
Section 6
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, complete projects and transactions, comply with legal and contractual obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, and protect the Services.
Retention periods vary based on the type of information and why it was collected. For example, project, transaction, tax, warranty, insurance, licensing, and contractual records may be retained longer when required for legal, accounting, safety, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
When you delete your account or submit a valid deletion request, we will delete or de-identify information from active systems within 30 days, unless retention is reasonably necessary or legally required. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 additional days and will be isolated from ordinary use until deleted through the normal backup cycle. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that cannot reasonably be linked to you.

Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; to know what we collect and disclose; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to appeal a decision concerning a privacy request.
You can:
- Review or update certain account information through the Services;
- Change camera, photo, location, and other device permissions in your device settings;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link on our website or in the app's privacy settings;
- Opt out of marketing email using the unsubscribe link;
- Withdraw optional consent by changing the applicable setting or contacting us; and
- Delete your account using the Delete Account option inside the Build Hero AI app.
Deleting the app from your device does not by itself delete your account. Use the in-app Delete Account option to begin account deletion. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request other than an opt-out. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, subject to verification.
We will respond to privacy requests within the time required by applicable law, generally 45 days, with an extension where permitted.
Appeals
If we deny a privacy request, you may appeal by replying to our response or by emailing [email protected] with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond to an appeal within 45 days in Colorado, within 60 days in Virginia and Connecticut, and within the period required by your state's law elsewhere. If we deny your appeal, we will provide you with a method to contact your state Attorney General.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. Some information may be exempt from a request under applicable law, and deleting certain information may prevent us from providing some or all of the Services.
Section 8
California Privacy Notice
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, including the rights to know, access, correct, and delete covered personal information; to obtain information about our collection and disclosure practices; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information.
The categories described in Section 1 may include identifiers; customer records; commercial information; internet or electronic activity; geolocation data; professional or employment-related information; audio, electronic, visual, thermal, or similar information; sensitive personal information; and inferences derived from other information.
We collect and use these categories for the business and commercial purposes described in Section 3 and disclose them to the categories of recipients described in Section 5.
We sell or share personal information as described in Section 5, primarily by disclosing project and property information to contractors and other professionals for matching purposes. The categories sold or shared may include identifiers, customer records, commercial information, geolocation data, and inferences. You may opt out using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link on our website or in the app's privacy settings, or by sending a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor.
We do not sell or share sensitive personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted under California law. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
California residents may exercise applicable rights through the in-app privacy settings, the in-app Delete Account function, or by contacting us using the details in Section 15.

International Users
Build Hero AI is based in the United States and the Services are intended for users in the United States. If you access the Services from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
Where required, we rely on consent, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests, or another valid legal basis to process personal information, and we use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers.

Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No system or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without valid authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
